Very well made 3d printed set up,simple to put together and I would highly recommend it as it has everything you need, I ordered wrong one and company were great at helping me change the order to the hydro nest, nice little extras with it as well like some extra tubing, connectors etc, only thing I wasn’t too keen on was it came with a wooden lid instead of the acrylic one but that wouldn’t stop me buying from them again anyway.

My Florida carpenter ants first home from the test tube was the small hydro nest. Since then I expanded with some old formicariums I had but they are almost in need of more space and I have the large hydro nest ready and waiting. They love the small hydro nest so much they didn’t abandon it when I added a larger nest. Instead have been using the small hydro nest as the main nursery. It is packed with pupae
If you have a test tube colony ready for a first nest then I highly recommend starting your girls in a hydro nest

My ants love the spaciousness of their enclosure. They originally were in a tiny nest that could not house them all. A few hours after I connected their nest to their new home they abandoned their old one for this. Really pleased with how this came out and looking forward to doing business in the future!
